ADVICE TIME - Time Plan
ADVICE TIME
Plot your time ⌚️
I take for granted my experience in this field. I find I can string together a time plan easily but I have been doing this for over 12 years! Let me share my thoughts on creating a time line...
Now, I should first point out that this is different for everyone. Your plans / ideas / circumstances can change this!...
MORNING
- Chat with your beauty team about the amount of work to be done (hair lengths and desired styles plus number of faces for make up) to figure out a start time,
- Be in your outfits an hour before (so you get comfortable and get some nice images!),
- Remember to eat before you don the dress (non-drip and not stinky!),
- Groom and his team should be there before any guests,
CEREMONY
- These can vary from 15mins to an hour depending on type and whats included (readings / performances etc),
POST CEREMONY
- Allow an hour minimum for drinks (and canapes),
- Allow 30mins for set shots (any more than that and you will get bored!!)
- Give 15mins for your coordinator to get guests seated before dining / speeches,
WEDDING DINING
- If speeches are before the meal or after, set a 30min rule for all speeches,
- A three course meal should take 2hrs to deliver (two course approx 1.5hrs depending on complexity of meals),
EVENING
- Always allow some flex here, whether bringing 1st dance forward or back (helps with meal / band / DJ delays!),
- Get the first hour or so of dancing in behind the 1st dance,
- Set evening food service at least 4hrs after the wedding meal,
- Taxis will probably start from 10.30pm for those not up for dancing,
- Start dropping the volume and bar service before midnight (to get the best from people),
DAY AFTER
- Dont forget to tell your suppliers the collection window and limitations.
I could go into so much more detail but that is what a good old consultation is for! I hope this helps in the meantime! Reach out for more info and to share your own complications to these basics.
Happy planning!
