In Brief:
When I first went to this venue I could totally appreciate why the couple chose it! What a setting!! Beth & Jon wanted to keep the actual plans simply beautiful, concentrating on a good atmosphere. Right up my street! The complications came because it was a very remote site and mixture of suppliers. They just wnated to ensure everything came together especially when they were having a ceremony off site too. It was a pleasure to help such a fab pair and work with a brilliant team!
The happy couple shared some thoughts on WBA assistance and DIY wedding planning….
How did you find Annabel?
“We Googled wedding planners in Cumbria and saw that you had worked with our venue provider, Special Event Tipis.”
What made you decide to have Annabel on your team?
“We had an initial chat with Annabel over Skype and she seemed very nice and sounded like she knew what she was talking about, which is basically all we ask for!”
Why did you choose a DIY wedding?
“We wanted the wedding to be a unique experience and had a location in mind that wasn't available as part of a package.”
What was the hardest part of planning?
“Just keeping on top of everything when there are so many suppliers - emails, choosing what options we want, chasing things up, keeping track of finances.”
What would you change looking back?
“We probably would have kept a better record of everything. It's not as easy as you think to retrieve a specific email from your inbox...”
How did it help having Annabel in the run up?
“Annabel basically "filled in the gaps" and gave us some direction when we needed it, and gave us reassurance that we weren't totally messing things up!”
What are your biggest memories of the day?
“Maybe it's a bit of a cop out, but everything! But I would say what unites all those memories is the beautiful location.”
How did it help having Annabel coordinate on the day?
“We didn't have to worry about making sure the plan for the day was followed, which meant we could just sit back and enjoy the experience.”
Would you recommend Annabel to DIY wedding pickers?
“Yes absolutely!”
