In Brief: This all started as a professional B2B connection as Annabel was asked to help with the production of weddings for Chris’s workplace.

“I think Chris actually wanted to suss me out before asking me to help with their wedding but he won’t admit that!!! Ha!”

Chris and Hannah both work in the realms of events and hospitality but this meant that standards are naturally high and they have a level of understanding behind the demands on their time.

Annabel got involved to mainly help with the time planning and connections required. The celebration was after their actual legal ceremony in the Summer and was being held in Grasmere Village Hall. These types of venues are wonderful but can take a different level of prep to make them ‘special event ready’!.

The Hall was fab and with a few tweaks such as lovely lighting and simple table dressings, it looked great with a gorgeous atmosphere. Chris’s connections made some glorious food while Rachel from Twisted Mojito and some additional staff helped with champers and such from the bar.

The band were an utter delight and then the games… those games… Annabel commented:

“I’m not sure why but I agreed to be ‘Taskmaster’ at the beginning of the night which involved handing out and then checking up on guests getting stuck in on some simple yet hilarious tasks! The engagement was brilliant and the revealing of the results by the couple was great fun! I completely recommend having an element like this for any do, especially if you have guests that you know will get stuck in!”

When the games had finished the dancefloor filled and the village hall was bustling with fun loving, champagne fuelled energy!

Testimonial from Hannah:

Why did you hunt for a Coordinator? We were running out of time to organise it ourselves, so we wanted someone to just jump in and get it sorted for us.

What made you choose Annabel for your wedding? Chris had worked with Annabel previously with the hotel and had seen how enthusiastic, friendly and professional she was so it was an easy decision to get her on board.

What was the most difficult part of planning a wedding? Mainly a lack of time trying to sort it ourselves really. We didn’t have the time to research good local suppliers to make it happen so that was a big thing for us.

What are your key memories from the day? We had already had our main wedding with parents and siblings six months earlier, and this was to be a big celebration for all friends and family; a big party! To have everyone we loved in one room was amazing, our dog Bertie enjoyed it more than anyone, and we just partied the night away!

Would you change anything? Not a thing! (Apart from the weather but hey, we live in the Lakes, what do we expect!)

How was having Annabel there throughout the event? Reassuring! Having her there to welcome guests and take over the hosting element was a big help and meant we weren’t fretting or relying on parents to welcome everyone before we got there. Annabel got to don her glittery hat though for our taskmaster challenges so I think she enjoyed it!

As the bride she made sure I ate too which you do forget as you get swept away with it all.

What advice would you give others planning a DIY style wedding? Get that support involved such as wedding planner as it just takes away you worrying about things. It does all fall into place though on the day.

Have you feedback on the rest of your supplier team? Most of the suppliers we used already aware of Annabel.

Would you recommend Annabel? Definitely! Worth every penny.
