In Brief:
I love it when each time I meet with a couple I have to stop the chat to actually talk about the wedding! On the first meeting, I heard Carolyn’s family story. Missing both parents for your wedding day is a hard one but I also knew that the amount of love involved would be a powerful ally. Most of the times we met to discuss the event, we got talking about the trials of parenthood, sharing hilarious snippets of life and generally debating the world!
The couple were clear about what they wanted but werent sure how to tie it all together. To aid this we soon found a theme from a gift Pete had given Carolyn - ‘Love you to the moon and back’. Colour was also important, not just because the venue was quite muted, but because their personalities needed to show. They loved red, white and blue so red roses were chosen and paired wonderfully with navy blue in a white room. Gold accents stood out beautifully with twinkly lights and really brought the scheme to life!
Emotions were running high that morning but with happy and sad tears shed, the ceremony was glorious. This was followed by a transport company letting the pair down but guests and myself moved into taxi mode and ensured everyone got to the venue (loved playing a bit of Metallica in my Golf!!). With a phone / background music problem solved next, speeches, delicious food and wine promptly followed. Once mingling time arrived the weather perked up so the garden called. With magic in the air, it was very suitable to have Alex the Magician entertain the crowd too!
I had such a laugh in the garden! Such a fun bunch of people!! It shows that choosing your guests because they will appreciate the celebration makes a huge difference compared to invites because you should. I honestly believe an event is made by the people and reflects their relationship with the couple.
Party time was handled by Dancing in the Dark after a lovely first dance, soon interrupted wonderfully by the couples two gorgeous little girls! Before checking off for the day, I like to make sure everyone, including the suppliers, are happy and it was great to hear all was good. It felt emotional for me to come to the end of the journey with Carolyn especially but I was overjoyed for the pair of them.

She is truly a wedding angel without whom the day wouldn't have gone ahead. Since the wedding several brides to be have asked if a planner is worth the money? Well my answer is Definitely YES, having a planner was 100% invaluable. She made our day perfectly unique for us as well as showing support during emotional moments.
